First things first: If you want to get a flat stomach in 14 days you’re going to have to do some work. You’re going to have to greatly alter your eating and exercising habits.
What’s unfortunate about losing belly fat is that it’s one of the more stubborn areas to get rid of. But with extra effort and a smart plan you can start to slim down your stomach in 2 weeks.
How To Get A Flat Stomach In 2 Weeks With Your Diet
To lose stomach fat quickly you’re going to have to greatly alter what and HOW you eat. What you do not want to do is try and starve yourself. This will only force your body into “starvation mode” which will make it store fat instead of burning it.
You should definitely cut calories. Look to cut around 500-600 calories per day but don’t fall below 1,200. Researchers have discovered that your body tends to get into “starvation mode” when you eat less than 1,200 calories. If you can cut 500-600 calories per day you should be able to lose around 1-1.5 pounds per week.
You’re going to want to eat lots of fiber, especially for breakfast. Try oatmeal, apples, almonds, bran cereal, black beans, Avocado, peas, etc. Here’s a list of fiber content for common foods: MayoClinic.com’s list of high fiber foods
And here’s a list of high fiber foods that you can download for free: High Fiber Food List
You can also take a fiber supplement if need be.
You’re going to want to drink lots of water. Actually, you probably want to drink nothing but water. Get rid of any and all sugary drinks (and that includes “diet” drinks). The more hydrated you are the less water your body will retain and the better you’ll feel.
You’re going to want to completely cut out sugar and bad fats. This isn’t easy but if you want a tight stomach in 2 weeks you really don’t have a choice. This means no cookies, cakes, pies, fast food, sodas, pastries, etc.
You’re going to want to eat nothing but fish, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. Try to eat 5 or 6 small meals a day. What you don’t want to do is starve yourself. There are ways to learn how to stop cravings without eating but if you starve yourself then you’ll only force your body to crave food MORE.
Include monounsaturated fats in your diet. Monounsaturated fats (also called MUFAs) may help reduce belly fat and can help lower the risk of stroke and heart disease. These foods are high in monounsaturated fats: Olive oil, flaxseed oil, peanut oil, walnut oil, almonds, cashews, peanuts, sunflower seeds, peanut butter, macadamia nuts, avocados, black olives, green olives, pesto, hummus, dark chocolate (70% cocoa).
Be careful with MUFAs though because they are higher in calories so don’t go overboard with them.
Here are some additional tips that you can use to help you get a flat stomach in 2 weeks:
1.Stay away from alcohol. One study found that just 90 calories of vodka can slow your metabolism by over 70%.
2.Don’t overeat. Your body can only handle so much. If you stick to around 600 calories per meal then you should be able to maximize your fat burning.
3.Eat the fruit and not the juice. Have an orange instead of orange juice or an apple instead of apple juice. The juices are much higher in sugar.
4.Try to include between 400-500mg of Vitamin C and 800mg of Vitamin D daily. Researchers have found that C and D can help you burn off more fat.
5.Try 6 grams of fish oil per day.
6.Cut your television time in half or get rid of it altogether. In it’s place exercise. You don’t have to go to the gym. Just take a walk. If the weather’s bad go to the mall and window shop. Just get moving.
7.Rev-up your metabolism in the morning by doing exercises within 2 hours after you wake up. Studies have shown that exercise and a balanced diet in the morning will really get your metabolism fired up for the rest of the day.
8.Research in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that if you sleep for 7 to 8 hours instead of 5 to 6 hours that you’ll actually burn more fat. So get some sleep!
9. Exercise daily! In order to lose weight this quickly you’ll need to engage in some intense exercising. However, if you are not used to exercising this is NOT an option. You can severely injure yourself (or worse) if you exert yourself too much when you’re body is not used to it. If you don’t normally exercise then it will be virtually impossible to get a flat stomach in 2 weeks. But if you start slowly you can build to a higher intensity workout and get a flat stomach in a few months. If you are used to exercising there are workout systems like Insanity that can help you cut weight quickly.
10. Lose excess water weight. Cut back on (or completely eliminate) salt, sugar, and alcohol from your diet. Drink more water! This sounds crazy but, according to That’sFit.com if you drink “8 to 10 glasses per day it will flush salt and fluid out of your system. A well-hydrated body in less likely to retain water.” Also, exercise (including swimming) helps your body eliminate excess fluids and salt.
