Tips On How To Get A Tight Tummy

You may usually choose clothing styles that keep the focus off your stomach or waist line. This is a problem that a lot of women face.  Well, with dedication and time you can wear clothing that exposes your tight tummy.  You just have to be ready to go to work.

There are definitely steps you can take to get rid of your belly fat. First, you need to know about the two types of fat.  There is the kind that is collected under the skin and there is the kind that is sitting on your internal organs. While the former, subcutaneous fat, affects your figure, the latter or visceral fat is harmful to your health.  With the right program you’ll be able to reduce both.

Your Diet And Your Tummy

Getting a tight stomach is directly linked to your diet and lifestyle. People who try to lose weight often resort to diets or skip meals. However, this can actually end up increasing your bodies fat deposits and overall weight. It is important that you eat at least five or six small meals or three satisfying ones.  Experts disagree about how many meals you should eat each day.  I believe you should do what fits best with your daily schedule.  If you like to eat three meals with a snack then do it.  If you want to eat 6 small meals then you can.  It’s all about WHAT you eat. Not WHEN you eat.

It is imperative that you do not skip your breakfast, as most experts believe it’s the most important meal of the day.   That being said, if you miss a breakfast, don’t panic.

Instead of eating processed food that is digested and absorbed quickly, choose foods that offer fiber and nutrients. Stay away from high glycemic foods that are quickly converted into sugar and cause a blood sugar spike. Such foods offer very little satiety and nutritional value. They will also leave you feeling hungry very quickly. By incorporating whole grains, vegetables and fruits to your daily diet you can keep your body healthy and fit. Choose food like brown rice, oatmeal and those that contain whole wheat. These offer the body fiber which promotes a healthy digestive system (and also keeps you fuller longer so you eat less).

Say goodbye to high calorie sweets, fried foods and midnight snacking. Experts say that these foods are responsible for weight and fat gain. Get your dose of sugar from fruits rather than a candy bar.

As much as possible eat homemade food rather than eating out or ordering in. Snack healthy by choosing fruit and yogurt over fried salty or sugary dishes.

Limit your intake of alcohol and soda. Drink at least six to eight glasses of water that will keep your body well hydrated. When you are tempted to snack on junk food, drink a glass of water. However, do not replace a meal with a glass of water or a drink.

Try and make at least half or your lunch and dinner plate fruit and vegetables.  This will make sure you’re getting the nutrients you need and will also drastically reduce the calories you’re consuming each day so you’ll lose weight quickly.

A Regular Fitness Routine

It is important that your body burns fat efficiently. By staying active through the day you can promote a good metabolic rate. A regular exercise routine that is followed at least five times a week can reduce body fat.

Exercise for at least 45 minutes to an hour every day. The fitness schedule should include one or two cardio exercises such as walking, jogging or cycling. This should be followed by a strength training routine which will include abdominal crunches and stretching exercises. When you are looking for tips on how to lose weight around the tummy you will want to choose movements that focus on stretching the muscles at the stomach and waist (your core).

Remember, you can’t “target” belly fat.  Doing a thousand crunches won’t eliminate belly fat before it eliminates arm, leg, back, or neck fat.  Your body will burn fat differently than anyone else so you just have to continue with a cardio/strength training regimen until your body burns the stomach fat.

Yoga is also an excellent exercise to add to your regimen. You will learn yoga poses that focus on building muscle and burning calories (especially if you do “power yoga”). If you find going to the gym or working out on home exercise equipment tedious and boring, consider joining a dance class. Enroll into a salsa class or one that combine several different styles of dancing.

Just remember, spot reduction or losing fat only from the tummy is a myth. You will need to make dietary and lifestyle changes that will eventually lead to the burning off of your stomach fat.  Just be patient and stick with your program. Once you begin to incorporate these changes not only will your belly gradually disappear, but you will also feel fit and healthy.
