Dr. Oz, just like most nutritional and health experts will tell you that the best way to get rid of belly fat is what you probably already know: Diet and exercise. However, Dr. Oz likes to include foods that are rich in monounsaturated fats because they help get rid of belly fat faster.
Here is a short list of “Good” belly fat foods and “Bad” belly fat foods directly from Dr. Oz himself:
Foods that make your belly flat:
1. Chocolate
2. Peanut Butter
3. Guacamole
Foods that make your belly fat:
1. Cheese
2. Margarine
3.Red Wine

So, according to Dr. Oz and other specialists, how should you lose weight around your midsection?
There are some things you can do to slim down around your midsection. And I don’t blame you for wanting to do so. Belly fat is the number one reason why people want to work out, diet, and lose weight. It’s unseemly and uncomfortable and it just plains sucks to have.
If you’re like me you HATE the way you look when your belly is overweight. It makes your body look all disproportionate. The rest of your body may be smaller but your belly isn’t. This used to make me CRAZY!
The good news is you can get rid of it with a little patience and a little hard work. There are tons of different dieting systems online that you can try. I recommend giving The Diet Solution a try as it contains an excellent diet system that will help you slim down quickly.
There are also the more popular diets that you can choose from:
Weight Watchers
Jenny Craig
Nutrisystem
Etc.
These are more involved, require more commitment, and are more costly than The Diet Solution but if you have the time and money they are definitely worth it.
If you want to lose your belly fat yourself at home, without spending any money on a proven weight loss blueprint, then follow the instructions I have below and with some time and work you can make it happen (oh, and this follows the same line of thinking that Dr. Oz uses in all of his weight loss advice).
How To Lose Belly Fat
1.Eat foods rich in monounsaturated fats. Foods like olives, avocado, oils (flaxseed, peanut, sesame, etc.), nuts and butters, chocolate (dark choc), and more contain monounsaturated fats that help you lose belly fat. They also help raise your good cholesterol, lower your bad cholesterol, and help increase your heart health.
2.GET RID OF JUNK FOOD! My father recently gave up eating ice cream and within a month he had lost 10 pounds! Of course, he ate a lot more ice cream than he should have but the point I’m trying to make is that when you eat foods that are rich in sugars and fats it’s going to have an impact on your body. Try giving up, or severely cutting back on, fast foods, candy, cake, pie, processed foods, etc.
3.Eat more veggies and more fruit. Eating your veggies and eating more fruit at first probably makes you curl your nose up. I knowthat’s how I used to think. But if you learn how to prepare them they can actually be quite tasty. Try grilling your vegetables. Grilled vegetables are delicious. Find some vegetables you like. There are so many kinds you don’t have to just stick to broccoli. With fruit I like to substitute “dessert” for a good, sweet piece of fruit. After lunch and dinner I’ll usually have a piece of whatever sweet fruit is in season. Nothing is better than a nice lunch followed by a big piece of watermelon or a sweet and tangy orange.
4.Get some exercise! Now, you don’t have to join a gym or work out in your basement for 2 hours a day. You can simply take a nice long walk after dinner each night. What you should do is find an exercise or two that you enjoy doing. That way, it won’t feel like work. I like swimming and going for long bike rides. Sometimes I’ll mix it up and go for a long walk. Here’s a good tip: wear some headphones/ipad for walking. According to experts, walking or working out to music makes you burn 25% more calories. Pick something fun like martial arts, swimming, jogging, bike riding, walking, racquet ball, tennis, basket ball, squash, volleyball, dancing, fencing, etc. Just find something you like doing and do it as often as you can.
5.It all comes down to getting rid of more calories than you take in. If you can lose 500 calories per day you’ll lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. Losing 500 calories a day is not easy. But if you cut back on bread, soda, sugar, etc. you’ll find that it’s much easier than you may have thought.
According to Dr. Oz and all other obesity and health experts, a healthy, balanced diet with regular cardiovascular exercise will help you not only get rid of that belly fat, but improve the quality of your life forever!
