It’s because of this that most people want to have the absolute best face they can get.  And you don’t want a really skinny face or a big round face.  Something in between is ideal.

An important fact to know when you are learning how to get a slimmer face that most people aren’t aware of, is that some otc (over-the-counter) medications can cause water retention in the face area.  Some of the products that you may take daily for aches, pains, and other minor illnesses can do this.  To slim your face you should try and cut back or cut out medications for muscle ache, sore throats, etc.  These drugs are safe and won’t cause any lasting damage to your face so don’t worry about that.  Don’t stop taking any drugs that are prescribed to you by a doctor.  You should consult your doctor anyway about which medication you should be on anyway.  Talk to him/her about what he/she thinks is best for you.


Cut back on salt! Bloat and water retention (and high blood pressure) are a result of eating too much salt.  One great way of cutting back on salt is to eliminate stuff like canned soups and potato chips from your diet.  Check the sodium levels of foods before you eat them and if it’s high in sodium then don’t eat it.  According to MayoClinic.com if you are a healthy adult you should limit your intake of sodium to 2,300 mg or less per day.  If you are black, middle-aged or older, have kidney disease or diabetes you should limit your sodium intake to 1,500 mg.

If you want to lose facial fat then drink lots of water. Most people are under the false impression that if you drink more water then you will retain more water.  This is not true.  In actuality the more water you drink the more water you will NOT retain.  Think of it this way, if your body is dehydrated then it will hold on to water (because it doesn’t think it will get enough).  If your body is properly hydrated then it has no reason to retain water.  It’s a survival thing.

Eat a healthy diet and exercise.  This will help you lose weight all over and when you do your face fat will go also.  You can learn how to stop hunger without eating but at the same time you should consume more vegetables, fruits, lean meats, fish, whole-grains, and nuts and less processed foods.  Avoid fast-food or pre-packaged meals.  Try and make your own food from fresh, natural ingredients.  Also, try to get in as much exercise as you can each day.  You don’t have to run a marathon.  You can simply take the dog for a walk.  If you’re eating healthy then any small amount of exercise will help burn the tiny amount of excess calories you are consuming.
