How To Become Skinny Fast With Diet And Exercise

How fast is “FAST?”  I get a lot of emails from people telling me, “I want to get skinny fast but I’m not sure how to go about it.”  This is a common question and today I’ll address it. As usual, with any form of weight loss, it’s all about diet moderation and cardiovascular exercise.

If you want to know how to be thin fast you should look at  losing around 1 – 5 pounds per week.  This is healthy if you cut back on about 300-500 calories per day.  If you aren’t used to exercise and you don’t normally eat a healthy diet then getting skinny quickly isn’t going be easy.  What I recommend is that, unless you’re physically fit and already eating a healthy diet, you start out slowly and build up over time.

Don’t rush it. You risk your health if you do this.  That’s why starvation diets and overly intense exercise is NOT recommended by anyone who knows anything about the human body.

You can easily lose 25-30 pounds in 6 months if you alter your diet to include a healthy balance of fish, lean meats, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.  If you’re physically fit and used to exercise and you eat a healthy diet, I would simply recommend that you ramp up your cardio and cut out some calories per day.  This should allow you to get rid of your extra fat and get really skinny.

Your Diet

The diet is where it’s all going to start.  It all really comes down to taking in less calories than you expend.   How to do this?  You’re going to have to start with the basics – get rid of all the junk food! You don’t need nor should you want to eat any fast food.  It’s terrible for  you and you will NOT be able to lose weight if you continue to eat it.  One small meal at McDonald’s can be up to and over 1,000 calories!  If you just HAVE to eat out because of a time constraint or other unavoidable problems try choosing lower calorie meals like wraps, salads (only use a fraction of the dressing), etc.  Also, if you have to eat out don’t drink soda.  Just have water.  Some people drink more than 300 calories a day just in sugary drinks.  If you cut out just sugary drinks like soda, bottled iced tea, bottled lemon aid, bottled juices, etc. you could easily lose ½ a week.

There are some foods and beverages that you should learn about that will help you know how to get really skinny fast.  The first group of foods are monounsaturated fats foods.  These foods contain fats that actually work to eliminate fat in specific parts of your body.  Other foods that fight fat are green tea, water, and flax oil.  Green tea and water are both excellent beverages that will help you fight fat by burning calories and boosting your metabolism.  Green tea has caffeine that can curb hunger and compounds called catechins which actually cause your body to burn more calories than it normally would.  Flax oil is being used now by alternative health professionals as a natural appetite suppressant.  You should included flax oil with balanced meal and it can help you feel fuller longer.

Exercise

In order for you to learn how to become really skinny you’re going to have to learn how to properly “get active.”  If you don’t exercise right now but you really want to I suggest you start out slowly with brisk walks and build your way up to jogging or another intense cardiovascular exercise.  Start out by doing a cardiovascular exercise 3 times a week at about 15-30 minutes per workout.  Do as much as you can but don’t overdo it.  You want to gradually work your way up to working out 5-6 times per week at about 45-60 minutes per workout.  At this point you’ll be burning lots of calories and if you eat a healthy, balanced diet you’ll see the weight just melt off your body.

You can choose a cardio exercise that you enjoy so it won’t feel like so much work.  There are all kinds of things you can do like tennis, soccer, basketball, running, swimming, dancing, martial arts, and even aerobic workout videos.  Whatever you find is easiest for you to manage is best. Also, if you’ve been sedentary for quite some time you can learn how to burn calories while sitting (and other ways to burn calories at home) and then work your way up to more physical type exercises.

Also you want to throw in some weight training into your routine.  Weight training does so, SO much for your body that it’s imperative you include it in your regular workout regimine.  If you want to learn how to be thin fast you need to learn how to work out with weights.  It does so much for your body:  helps you prevent injury, improves your balance, causes your body to burn a lot more calories all the time, and even turns back the clock on the aging process.

The Bottom Line:

Getting thin quickly means cutting calories, eating healthy and balanced, and working out.  Start out slowly and build up.  Cutting back on 500 calories per day will yield you about 1 to 2 pounds of weight loss per week.  Don’t go below 1,200 calories a day though because it throws your body into “starvation mode.”  When your body is in this mode it will begin to store fat much more quickly and it will be harder for you to get rid of it.

      Hey Cecillia,

Starving is VERY unhealthy! You can lose weight just by eating a healthy, balanced diet and getting plenty of exercise. You can eat until you’re full if you eat healthy foods.
