How Much Is Jenny Craig And Other Facts

The Jenny Craig diet program is a 3 level diet program that deals with not only food but the way you perceive food and the way you perceive life.

The three levels are broken down like this:

Level 1 – Dieters are shown how to eat what they want in small, manageable, frequent portions.

Level 2 – Dieters are shown how to build up their energy levels and feel better and happier by doing simple activities.

Level 3 – This part of the program is the “Mind” level.  It shows it’s users how to create more balance in their lives so that they can be healthier mentally and physically and keep the weight off for good once they lose it.

How Much Is Jenny Craig A Month?

A question I get asked a lot is how much does Jenny Craig really cost per month?  Since prices are not readily available I will provide that information for you.  Right now there is a special deal being offered where you pay $20 for the first 20 pounds that you lose.   You have this option or you can opt for the Jenny Craig Premium Plan which costs $400 for 12 months.  This is not the only cost of the program however.  The food for the plan costs approximately $130-$140 dollars a week.  The plan is set up to gradually teach you how to create your own healthy menus so the longer you go the less the plan will cost.  Also, as you lose weight you will eat less so you’ll have less food to buy.

The optional meetings costs $12 a week.

What You Get With The Program

In addition to the meals you also get several levels of support.  One of the best aspects of this program )(or any diet program for that matter) is the fact that you have access to a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week phone line that you can call to get information or support when you need it.  You can also find support online where they have peer-supported discussion groups.  Ebooks, hard copy books, and other support materials are for sale on the Jenny Craig website.

The programs themselves are divided into two-types:  The Jenny Craig centers, and the at-home Jenny Craig Direct.  The centers are ideal for those people who live near an actual center.  There are over 650 centers in the United States, Puerto rico, Canada, New Zealand, Austrailia, and Canada.  If you don’t live near a center  you can still get the full benefits of the programs through the at-home program.

The Food

The prepackaged meals that Jenny Craig offers are essentially the cornerstone to the diet.  These frozen dinners, lunches, breakfasts, and snacks are all nutritionally balanced (they reflect the correct federal guidelines based on the USDA food pyramid).

While you do receive frozen entrees for each meal you will need to supplement them with fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products from your local grocery.

On this diet no food is off limits.  This doesn’t mean you can eat what you want, however.  Built into the program are frequent (but not too-frequent) “splurges” where you are allowed to eat what you want.

Lisa Watlman, who is call center manager for Jenny Craig says that “There is nothing you cannot have.”   She says that Jenny Craig’s goal is to educate it’s dieters about food and what it does to your body.  So they won’t tell you that you can’t have a piece of pie but they will inform you of what that pie will do to your body if you eat it.

The Jenny Craig method is a calorie based method.  The menus that you will have are developed for you by your counselor.  The counselor will use your weight, height, and your goals to determine the perfect menu for you.

Bottom Line

The Jenny Craig diet is perfect for those people who are willing to make BIG changes in order to lose weight.  Also, you have to be able to afford it as it’s not cheap.  You will also need to take advantage of all that this program offers to see maximum weight loss.  But, if you are ready to commit and ready to lose weight and keep it off for life, then this program can show you how.

      Hey Heather,

The initial consultation will just be some general questions so that they can develop a strategy that’s best for you. They’ll probably ask you how much you want to lose, how quickly, health history, etc.

Let me know how it goes!
