What Vitamins Are Good For Weight Loss?
Vitamins are an important part of any healthy, balanced diet and that there are certain vitamins that you can take that can help you with losing weight.
Vitamins like B, C, and calcium can help you lose weight by boosting your metabolism, reducing the storage of fat, and increasing the strength of your immune system.
When you’re trying to slim down, these vitamins can help you achieve your goals much faster and at the same time keep you healthy by aiding your bodies natural functions.
What Vitamins Are Good For Weight Loss?
Vitamin C
Vitamin C helps with weight loss by increasing your bodies ability to burn fat. Vitamin C provides many health benefits such as lessening the risk of infection, lowering cholesterol levels, and strengthening your immune system. Vitamin C also plays a role in glucose conversion. Glucose conversion is the process by which energy is provided to your cells. When this function is running at its optimum, your body is going to be primed and ready to burn more excess sugars, fat, and calories.
You should try and get 60 milligrams of Vitamin C per day. Not only does it help power your immune system and weight loss efforts, but it also helps improve iron absorption and aids vitamins D and calcium with bone maintenance. It’s a very important vitamin.
Vitamin B
Before I start I want to answer a question. There has been some buzz online lately about b12 and weight loss. As a matter of fact, just today, I received an email from subscriber to my newsletter who asked, “how much b12 should I take for weight loss?” I won’t go into too much detail here, but I will say that based on all available research and according to experts, vitamin b12 does NOT improve weight loss. You can read more about the research at Mayoclinic.com
With that said, there are B vitamins that really do help you with weight loss. Vitamins B2, B3, B5, B6 are all important and help your body regulate the thyroid and also increase your metabolism (which means you burn more calories faster). B6, B2, and riboflavin help the thyroid gland properly produce the thyroid hormone. Without it you have an imbalance and that’s where thyroid weight gain comes from. B3 also aids in thyroid production and helps regulate your sugar levels. B5 helps your body release energy from the fuel foods you eat such as starches, fats, and carbohydrates. If you don’t get enough B5 in your diet then you will probably feel tired a lot.
The recommended daily amounts for these vitamins are: B2 1.7 milligrams, B3 13-18 milligrams, B5 10 milligrams, B6 2 milligrams
Calcium
Calcium may be one of the most effective weight loss vitamins available. It is particularly effective in preventing weight gain in the mid-life years. A recent study in Canada found that women who did not receive the recommended daily amount of this vitamin were more inclined to have a higher percentage of body fat, wider waistlines, and were much more inclined to be obese.
The recommended amount of calcium is about 1,000 milligrams per day. You can get your recommended daily amount of this vitamin through supplements or simply through low-fat (skim) dairy products. Calcium is important for many functions including bone health but it also helps by disposing of currently stored body fat and helps prevent the future storing of body fat.
